What makes the ideal lock security package? We made a list of the most important issue.
1st: Having the parts before they are needed. Our Deluxe Security Package includes multiple sets of lock inserts and keys that can be easily swapped by you, the customer, either on a regular schedule or at the first sign of trouble.
2nd: Having superior security technology. Every lock insert sold by us has upgraded driver pins that prevent lock picking or bumping. As a long-time locksmith doing residential lockouts, I can tell you that they are extremely effective.
3rd: Having some control over key duplication without making it difficult for yourself. Our lock inserts come in either standard keyways or controlled keyways. The standard keyway packages include 2 original keys for easy duplication and 3 large headed keys stamped "Do Not Duplicate" which deters unauthorized duplication. The controlled keyways keys can be duplicated at a local locksmith shop.
4th: Being the sole owner of your key's and lock's bitting to prevent unauthorized creation of your lock's keys. 77 Lock & Key holds no key records of any kind. Our lock inserts and keys are purposely randomized before shipping so they can not be later associated with a box or a customer.
5th: Protecting your key's and lock's bitting from modern scanning devices. Our security packages include a folding key organizer that if used properly will protect your key's bitting from professional criminals using x-ray or other scanning methods. Note: There has been some new technologies used by professionals to x-ray scan locks. This can only work if the lock cylinder protrudes entirely from the surface of the door. Mortise lock cylinders, rim lock cylinders, atrium lock cylinders, and some deadbolts do not protrude enough for this to be affective. Even so, this method would be at the bottom of the list of concerns.

Note: Service Charge includes the trip charge, a brief survey and minor servicing such as screw tightening, lock alignment and lock lubrication. Scheduled jobs are placed 24 hours in advance. Additionally Insured and routine customers have the option of not being present for jobs that do not require picking or drilling the locks to gain entry. Otherwise, authorization will be needed on company letterhead for lockout situations.

Note: I specialize in standard pin tumbler locks. Standard locks can be easily modified to provide a level of security that makes lock picking and bumping near impossible and makes it not time effective for the criminals to gain illegal entry. I provide 2 original keys and additional keys are cut on “Do Not Duplicate” key blanks which adds an additional level of unauthorized duplication deterrence.
I install high security keyway locks by request.
$4.00 per key
Locksets prices vary. Prices will not exceed 25% more than list prices found on-line. I focus on making money on labor and repeat business.
I typically provide medium grade brand name locks unless requested by the customer. I focus on Schlage and Yale products. I provide digital combo levers and digital combo deadbolts when requested. I avoid Kwikset knob locks and substitute with other brands with the same keyway whenever possible. I avoid installing the new Kwikset or Schlage “smartkey” and “EZ change” locks whenever possible as I find them to be inferior to a properly rekeyed lock. I can provide general lock and door hardware including basic stand alone camera systems, kickplates, surface bolts, peephole, knockers, coverplates, patio locks, door pins & window pins.
